Mowgli, Ring-Tailed Lemur
Primates
Mowgli arrived at Black Pine Animal Sanctuary in February. He was confiscated by New Mexico Game and Fish when he was discovered being illegally kept by a private owner. He did not receive a proper diet, so he was the size of a 6-9 month-old lemur despite being two years old. Mowgli spent some time at the Albuquerque Zoo until a permanent refuge could be found. Once quarantined, he received a full medical work-up. This allowed Black Pine Animal Sanctuary to introduce him to the Primate House immediately upon arrival. At first, he was overwhelmed by all the animals and sounds but quickly acclimated to his new surroundings. He loves food, and his diet has been increased to help him gain weight and muscle.
