Basic Requirements
- 16 years of age or older.
- Commitment to orientation and training program.
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instruction.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and be standing for long periods of time.
- Commitment to a minimum of 4 hours of service monthly.
- Respect for all safety and risk protocols.
- Be friendly and courteous to sanctuary guests.
- Share a passion for BPAS mission.
What to expect
- Assist with Diet prep.
- Assist with basic housekeeping throughout the compound.
- Assist with Enrichment prep.
- Assist in Level 3 animal care, based on individual approval, alongside a Lead Keeper.
- At no point do volunteers have contact with the animals. Only highly trained Lead Keepers are allowed, and only for the medical care and well-being of the animal.
