How to Help
Basic Requirements
- 16 years of age or older.
- Commitment to orientation and training.
- Ability to lift 15 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
- Commitment of a minimum of 5 hours of service monthly in season (Labor Day-Memorial Day).
- Commitment to assist with at least one special event.
- Respect for all safety and risk protocols.
- Be friendly and courteous to sanctuary guests.
- Share a passion for BPAS mission.
What to expect
- Admissions/Gift Shop
- Greet Guests
- Merchandize/straighten
- Light housekeeping
- P.O.S. System
- Conduct guest orientation
- Between 9am-4:30pm in season and special events
- Docent/Chaperone
- Greet Guests
- Between 1:00-4:00 pm on Saturdays and Sundays in season and special events
- Monitor guest’s activities, assure safety of animal residents
- Answer guests questions and concerns
- Tour Guide
- Conduct field trips
- May through October, 10:00 am or 12:00 pm
- Groups between few people to 20
- Educate public on animal residents and the realities of the exotic pet trade
